Since 1976, the Italian International Film Festival has been making the entire Pays Haut region vibrate with the colours of Italy!
Located on the edge of the Meurthe-et-Moselle region, bordering Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany, Villerupt was a town with a long mining and steelmaking tradition and a rich cultural mix. In 1976, at a time when approximately 60% of its population was of Italian origin and Italian cinema was at its peak, the festival was launched. It was an immediate success.
