Nicknamed "Little Canada of Lorraine" because of its maple leaf shape, its coniferous forests and its charm reminiscent of the great Canadian lakes, Lake Pierre-Percée is one of the largest artificial lakes in Eastern France.
Ideal for contemplation and sporting activities, this vast expanse of water stretches over more than 300 hectares. It offers varied panoramas: banks, coves, and wooded hills. Numerous hiking trails crisscross the site for nearly 35 kilometers and allow you to explore it on foot or by mountain bike. It is also possible to practice multiple outdoor activities in this exceptional natural setting: tree climbing, giant zip line, bungee jumping, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boating, fishing, etc. There are also several picnic areas for refreshments.
Created between 1981 and 1985 by the construction of a dam on the Vieux-Pré stream, the Pierre-Percée lake compensates for the flow of the Moselle when it is too low.
