Daum

Since 1878 in Nancy

Did Jean Daum sense, when he bought an ordinary bottle factory – the Sainte-Catherine glassworks in Nancy – that one of his sons had gold in his fingers? From 1878, Auguste managed the administration, Antonin, the creation.

Great names in Art Nouveau came to their studios, led by Jacques Grüber, who created pieces for the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, Daum's first worldwide success. For nearly 145 years, more than 350 signatures of exceptional artists, from Majorelle to Dali, including César, create unique collector's items.

DAUM

Did you know?

The technique of glass paste, born among the Phoenicians and the Egyptians, then fell into disuse. It was Amalric Walter (who came from the Manufacture de Sèvres) who brought it to Daum in 1904. It is the only crystal factory in the world to perfectly master this exceptional material.
Please note, Emile Gallé never made a piece in “glass paste”!
