The Friends of the Old Country Museum is located in the partially restored medieval castle of Dieulouard. It displays the Gallo-Roman remains of the Scarpone site and a reconstruction of a small Gallo-Roman burial cemetery under tiles. The major Roman road from Lyon to Trier via Metz crossed the Moselle River at Dieulouard, the ancient Scarpone. This settlement, situated on the lower alluvial terrace, was divided into small villages connected by stone and wooden bridges and remained a strategic crossing point on the Moselle River during the High Middle Ages. - Open every Sunday from March to November (14 pm to 18 pm) - Guided tours for groups (minimum 10 people) by appointment.
