Heretic Arch

Inspired by that of Septimius Severus in Rome, the triumphal arch glorifies the portrait of King Louis XV of France, depicted in a medallion at the top of the building. Now called the Arc Héré, its name recalls the architect Stanislas, who designed this monument, which was intended to link Place Royale (now Place Stanislas) and Place de la Carrière.
