In 1811, in order to allow all inhabitants to have access to spring water, for animals to drink, and to wash clothes other than in the Moselle, which was dangerous in case of flooding and frost, the commune had 3 fountains built in the village (Place de la République, Place des Vignes and Rue des Roses). It also built the "Grande Fontaine" on Place des Mariés. This Grand Fontaine was built according to the principle of the old half-timbered market halls of the Middle Ages with a drinking trough and a wash house. Dismantled in 1974, the wash house-watering trough was rebuilt from 2011 to 2013 according to the original plans. This reconstruction was carried out thanks to the support of the Heritage Foundation, the General Council of Meurthe et Moselle, Evelyne Didier and Philippe Nachbar, senators, Jean-Yves le Déaut, MP, the Regional Council of Lorraine, the Bassin de Pompey, and the residents of Millery through subscription. The Millery washhouse won the 2014 Regional Heritage Ribbon Award for Lorraine.
